Continuously Transposed Cable
CTC are cables formed by 2 parallel bundles of enameled flat
wires. Enameled insulation is normally polyvinyl formal eventually with epoxy
bondable top coat. In the transposition process each conductor assumes all possible positions in
both bundles along the cable length. The transposed conductor is generally paper wrapped with a maximum of 24
tapes and thickness from 0.8 to 5.0 mm. PPE also supplies CTC with netting tape (STRINGEX)
where in the paper insulation is replaced by a transformer oil resistant
polyester wire frame tied up in the cable section. CTC is used in high power transformer windings
resulting in extreme efficiency equipment (very low losses). Production is carried out using line short circuits wich result in
a "fail safe" reliable product.
The range supplied is from
5 to 61 conductors.
SPECIFICATIONS CTC is produced according to international specification, and specific customer requirements. • IEC 60317-0-2 • IEC 60317-18 • IEC 60317-29 • IEC 554 • IEC60851 |
